Frequently asked questions
How booking, payment, flights and support work. Still unsure? We reply to every enquiry within a day.
Booking & payment
- How do I book a trip with Osat?
- Send us an enquiry through the website, by email, phone or WhatsApp with a rough idea of where you want to go, when, and for how many people. We come back with a written quote — usually within 24 hours — and the booking is confirmed once you accept it and pay the deposit shown on the confirmation.
- Do you have fixed prices or is every trip custom?
- Both. The safaris and packages listed on the site — such as the Maasai Mara safari, the Mombasa coastal getaway and Amboseli — have a per-person starting price you can book as-is. Most trips are tailored around your dates, budget and interests, and the quote reflects that.
- What is included in the price?
- It depends on the trip, so every quote itemises it. A safari package typically includes park and conservancy fees, accommodation, ground transport, transfers and a driver-guide as specified. International flights, visas or entry permits, travel insurance, drinks and tips are normally excluded unless your confirmation says otherwise.
- How and when do I pay?
- A deposit confirms the booking; the balance is due by the date on your confirmation. Quotes are usually in US dollars. If the balance is not paid on time, suppliers can release the arrangements and cancellation charges may apply.
- What happens if I need to change or cancel?
- Tell us in writing as early as you can. What you recover depends on the supplier terms for your trip plus our service fee — the detail is in our Cancellation Policy and your booking confirmation. Travel insurance taken out when you book can cover cancellation charges for accepted reasons such as illness.
Flights, visas & insurance
- Can you book my international and domestic flights?
- Yes. Flight reservations and ticketing are a core service — with carriers including Kenya Airways, Jambojet and Emirates — either as part of a package or on their own.
- Do you arrange airport transfers and ground transport?
- Yes. Airport transfers are included in most packages and can also be booked separately, along with inter-city and inter-park transport.
- Do I need a visa or travel authorisation for Kenya?
- Most visitors to Kenya need to apply online for electronic travel authorisation before departure. Requirements differ by nationality and change from time to time, so you must confirm what applies to you through the official Kenyan government channel. We will flag the requirements we are aware of, but holding the correct documents is your responsibility.
- Is travel insurance required?
- It is strongly recommended for every trip and required for some safari and charter itineraries. Your policy should cover medical treatment and emergency evacuation, trip cancellation and curtailment, and baggage. Arrange it as soon as your booking is confirmed.
On your trip
- What support do I have while travelling?
- Every itinerary comes with a 24-hour contact number. If a flight shifts or plans change mid-trip, call us and we work with the suppliers to sort it out — you are dealing with one team that knows your booking, not a call centre.
- How far ahead should I book?
- For peak periods — the July-to-October migration season and the December-to-January holidays — several months ahead is sensible, because lodge space and flights fill early. Outside those windows, shorter lead times are usually fine.
